As an original pencil drawing, this was used as the basis for the look of "Mortimer Mouse" and led to a hand drawn cel, then painted and used for 1/24 os a second on the screen. From 1936, these cartoon shorts were shown in movie theaters around the globe. To be clear, it take 24 separate drawings/cels to "animate" a character in motion....this is a key drawing as you can see, set lines and major positioning of the character.
